The short version.
Frictify adds friction, not blocking — you can always continue into an app, and it makes no promise to stop you. It is a habit tool, not a medical device, and it comes with no warranty. Your data stays on your phone; see the Privacy Policy.
1. Agreement
These terms apply when you use the Frictify Android application. Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
2. What Frictify does — and does not — do
Frictify interrupts you before you open apps you have selected, asks you to state an intention and a time budget, and prompts you when that budget is spent.
It is designed as friction, not as a block. You can always choose to continue into an app, extend a session, or turn the app off. Frictify does not guarantee that it will prevent, restrict, or reduce your use of any app, and it should not be relied on as an enforcement mechanism.
Its ability to detect app launches depends on Android permissions remaining granted and on your device's battery and background-process settings. Some manufacturers restrict background services aggressively, which can stop Frictify from working until those settings are adjusted. That behaviour is outside our control.
3. Not health or medical advice
Frictify is a general-purpose habit and attention tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, including any addiction or mental health condition. If your relationship with your phone is causing you distress, please speak to a qualified professional.
4. Your responsibilities
- Use the app lawfully, and on a device you control.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.
- Understand that granting the accessibility, overlay, and usage-access permissions is your choice, and that the app cannot function without them.
5. Paid features
Frictify may offer optional paid features. Where purchases are made through Google Play, Google's payment and refund terms apply, and any billing questions are handled through your Play account. Free features may change over time.
6. Your data
Your intentions, session history, and usage figures are stored on your device and are not uploaded. Crash diagnostics are the sole exception. This is set out in full in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. No warranty
Frictify is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of or inability to use the app — including any time spent in, or not prevented from spending in, any application. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and availability
We may update the app or these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may also stop distributing or supporting the app at any time.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
